Can Ndfeb permanent magnets be baking painted?

Usually we find that ferrite magnets will baking paint or spray paint, so some customers asked that neodymium magnets can baking paint? The answer is no, under normal circumstances, neodymium magnets will not be baking painted. If you must bake, the baking temperature of the paint should be lower than the working temperature range of the magnet, so as not to affect the performance of the magnet.

Specific reason analysis: Magnetism is related to temperature, and the temperature of paint is almost higher than that of common grade neodymium magnet

1. The higher the temperature, the smaller the magnetic field, the weaker the magnetic field.

The working temperature that neodymium magnet can withstand is related to the material of the magnet itself, and the maximum temperature can reach 200 degrees. Like N35, the temperature resistance of 80 ° C, if it is 100 ° C, the magnetism of the magnet can be eliminated.

2. For all magnetic materials, they are not magnetic above the Curie temperature.

Generally, magnetic materials have a critical temperature of Tc. Above this temperature, the arrangement of atomic magnetic moments is disordered due to the violent thermal motion of atoms at high temperatures. Below this temperature, the magnetic moments of the atoms are arranged in order, resulting in spontaneous magnetization, and the object becomes ferromagnetic.

3. We talk about baking paint, mainly divided into two categories:

The curing temperature of a low-temperature baking paint is 140° to 180°, and the other is called high temperature baking paint, whose curing temperature is 280° to 400C. Because there is a heating process in the baking painting process, the magnetic properties of magnetic materials are greatly affected by temperature factors, so neodymium magnets generally do not recommend the baking paint process.

In summary, the highest grade of neodymium magnet temperature resistance is 230,80 is more commonly used. The lowest temperature of low-temperature baking paint is 140, and the lowest temperature of high-temperature baking paint has reached 280 ° C, which is far higher than the maximum temperature resistance of the strongest grade. When the temperature exceeds the temperature resistance, it will be degaussed. So neodymium magnets are not suitable for baking painting.
