Maximum Surface Magnetic Force Strength of Ferrite Magnets

Ferrite magnet is a kind of sintered permanent magnet material, due to its low cost and good stability, widely used in motors, loudspeakers (horns), toys and handicrafts, etc. Today we are going to talk about how much is the maximum surface magnetic field strength of it.

Ferrite magnets can be categorized into two types, each isotropic and each anisotropic, with each isotropic ferrite having weaker magnetic properties and each anisotropic ferrite having stronger magnetic properties. But even anisotropic ferrite, its magnetic energy product is relatively low, usually does not exceed 4.0 MGOe, Surface magnetic field strengths can reach up to about 1700 gauss (gs), but usually do not exceed 2000 gauss.

It is important to note that the magnetic force of ferrite magnets in practical applications may be affected by a variety of factors, such as:

1. size and shape: smaller magnets usually have a higher apparent magnetism, but as the size increases, the apparent magnetism may gradually decrease.

2. Material grade: A higher grade ferrite of the same size has a higher apparent magnetic strength, e.g. Y35 will be chosen over Y30.

3. Manufacturing process: The manufacturing process of the magnet also has an effect on the magnetic force, such as the voltage and degree of saturation of the magnetization.

In addition, the accuracy of measuring the magnetic force of ferrite magnets may be affected by the measuring instrument. Different gauss meters may give slightly different measurements.

As a word of caution, the Gauss value of a magnet is not something that can be simply accumulated; the Gauss value of one magnet is fixed, and multiple magnets placed together will not cause their Gauss values to simply add up.
