Motor is an indispensable and important part of modern industry and life, in which the magnet is an important part of the motor to generate magnetic field. When assembling and repairing the motor, how to firmly fix the magnet has become a key issue, some people ask if 502 glue will work.
502 glue is a common fast bonding glue, although the adhesive force is strong, but the temperature resistance is poor, limited vibration resistance, for some motors may not be suitable.
Trapezoidal neodymium magnets for motors
Suitable for cases where 502 glue is used for fixing;
Small, low-power motors: e.g. toy motors or low-speed micro-motors, which operate at lower temperatures and have less vibration.
Temporary fixing: 502 glue can be used to temporarily fix magnets for positioning until a stronger bonding agent is finally used.
More suitable magnet fixing solution;
Epoxy resin adhesive: high temperature resistance (usually up to 150°C or more), strong adhesive strength and excellent resistance to vibration, suitable for industrial motors, household appliance motors and other environments that require long term stable work.
Two-component structural adhesive: higher strength and durability, good resistance to shock and vibration.
Although 502 glue has the advantages of easy operation and fast curing, its lack of high temperature resistance and vibration resistance in motor magnet fixing makes it unable to meet the operational needs of most motors. For high temperature, high vibration or motors requiring long term stability, epoxy resin glue, structural adhesive or mechanical fixing solutions are recommended.
