In June 2024, China's top three export destinations for rare earth permanent magnets were Germany, the United States and South Korea.
China exported 1,020.62 metric tons of rare earth permanent magnets to Germany, compared with 866.82 metric tons in the same period last year and 695.42 metric tons in the previous month, up 17.74% year-on-year and 46.76% sequentially. The average export price was US$46,799.79 per metric ton, compared with US$63,770.32 per metric ton in the same period last year and US$53,820.61 per metric ton last month, down 26.61% year-on-year and 13.05% sequentially.
High strength neodymium round magnets
China exported 729.88 metric tons of rare earth permanent magnets to the U.S., compared with 707.18 metric tons a year earlier and 688.83 metric tons last month, up 3.21% year-on-year and 5.96% sequentially. The average export price was US$42,321.81 per metric ton, compared with US$59,323.81 per metric ton in the same period last year and US$45,266.27 per metric ton last month, down 28.66% year-on-year and 6.50% sequentially.
China exported 478.94 metric tons of rare earth permanent magnets to South Korea, compared with 618.12 metric tons a year earlier and 479.97 metric tons last month, down 22.52% year-on-year and 0.21% sequentially. The average export price was US$47,828.71 per metric ton, compared with US$73,511.95 per metric ton in the same period last year and US$46,984.39 per metric ton last month, down 34.94% year-on-year and up 1.80% sequentially.
