NdFeB permanent magnets is a kind of high-performance rare earth permanent magnet material, its magnetic properties and temperature resistance mainly depend on its grade and chemical composition, the following is a more intuitive neodymium grade strength and temperature resistance chart (Figure).
The following picture shows the distribution of magnetic properties of neodymium magnets.
Neodymium Magnet Grade and Temperature Resistance Chart
In a theoretical experimental environment, the upper limit of the maximum operating temperature for ordinary grades of neodymium magnets is about 80°C, while the maximum operating temperature for high-performance high-temperature-resistant grades can reach up to 230°C. It should be noted that the Curie temperature (the temperature point at which magnetism disappears) is 310°C.
Relationship between neodymium strength and temperature
The magnetic strength of NdFeB magnets is closely related to the ambient temperature in which they are located. Normally, for every 1°C increase in temperature, the magnetic force will weaken accordingly. This weakening is reversible within the operating temperature range, i.e. most of the magnetic force can be restored when the temperature is lowered.
When selecting suitable NdFeB magnets, the temperature conditions of the application environment need to be taken into account to ensure that the temperature resistance of the selected magnets can meet the requirements of use. Different grades of NdFeB magnets have different magnetic properties and temperature resistance, so it is very important to choose the right grade according to the specific application scenario.
