From the point of view of the material used in the magnetic bar, there are two commonly used: one is a manganese zinc ferrite with a magnetic permeability of 400, which is black, and the operating frequency is low and the magnetic permeability is high, which is suitable for medium wave; Another kind of nickel zinc ferrite with an initial permeability of 60, brown, can work with higher frequencies and lower permeability, suitable for short wave. If the nickel zinc type is used in medium wave, the receiving efficiency is lower than that of manganese zinc. Manganese zinc is used in short wave, because of the high frequency loss of the magnetic rod, the acceptance efficiency is also very low.
The ability of the magnetic antenna to receive the signal is related to the length L of the magnetic rod and the size of the cross-sectional area. The longer the magnetic bar, the larger the cross-sectional area, the stronger its receiving capacity, and the higher the sensitivity of the radio. This is because the magnetic field line of the electromagnetic wave emitted by the radio is very dense in the sky, and the larger the cross-sectional area of the magnetic bar, the more number it holds, the greater the voltage induced on the coil, and the higher the sensitivity. On the other hand, the longer the magnetic rod, the greater the strength of the magnetic field line it absorbs, and the higher the voltage induced on the coil, so the higher the sensitivity of the radio. The function of the flat magnetic bar is the same as that of the circular bar with the same cross-sectional area, and the output signal power is the same.
Note: 8x100mm manganese-zinc ferrite it is not rolled round in diameter.
